When I first heard that you could make money via the internet, I was pretty skeptical. It all just seemed too good to be true. I had heard about so many scams and companies out there that tried to get your money in order to ‘help you make large sums of money in a few days’. Although there was quite a bit of negative information surrounding the whole idea; I decided to give it a try and let me tell you, that was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.
How I Started Out
I’ll never forget my first writing job. It was back in 2009. I had never even seen a forum before but was intrigued by one in particular, so began posting away. I ended up getting hired on the site as both a moderator and a poster. It was one of the coolest things I’d ever done. I loved how I had complete creative control. I created multiple accounts and was able to create unique profiles for each. It was amazing. Sadly, the site ended up shutting down but from that moment on; I was completely hooked.
Every single day, I was locating new forums that I was interested in posting on and would contact the admins, asking if they needed any help. Before I knew it, the jobs were rolling in. Sure, I wasn’t making a ton of money at the time but it was a lot better than being unemployed! I had finally found a way to do what I loved and actually get paid to do it.
Branching Out To Blogs
How do people make money blogging?
After a few months, I started branching out and worked on various blogs. Those were a breath of fresh air compared to the forums because I was able to make much more money and stick to a single topic instead of needing to come up with topic upon topic upon topic. (Which, don’t get me wrong; I still love to do but it’s always nice to have a mixture. I don’t do well with monotony)
Being A Guest Columnist
In the past year or so, I have branched out into guest posts. Writing guest posts would have to be my favorite of all; not only because it’s the newest avenue for me but also because they’re much longer than normal blogs and I’ve learned so much along the way. I’m to a point now in my writing career where I can be sent a job about anything under the sun; and no matter what the topic may be; I will find a way to cover it.
I love to research and learn about all kinds of things. My favorite topics to date would have to be love, relationships, advice and anything related to psychology but I’m extremely confident in my writing so do not solely stick to those topics. I feel as though I’m getting free schooling and getting paid to do it. The things I learn through writing have changed my life. I’m so glad I decided to give this a try!
